10 Steps To Beating A Player At His Own Game
We have all had some kind of experience with players, whether they broke our heart or our friend’s heart. We know the way he works; sometimes we’re aware that he’s a player, but we still end up being played. His game is strong, he’s so charming and good-looking and he always knows the right thing to say. But what if I told you that you can beat him at his own game?
1. Ignore him
Players are used to drawing attention the moment they enter a club. To play him, first you have to get his attention, and trust me, ignoring him is the perfect way to do it. But be careful, you don’t want to be rude. Just act uninterested enough so that he’ll wonder why his magic didn’t work on you. Make it look like you have better things to do than to talk to him and excuse yourself with a charming smile. The game is on.
2. Slightly acknowledge his existence
Depending on the type of game you’re playing, this step can come after a couple of days or even hours at the same party. Smile at him across the room and introduce yourself. Don’t let him ask you to dance or date or to bathe you in compliments. Play the game using your own rules. Take a drink, thank him and leave. Say hello and leave. Leave him with a confused look on his face, because he’s not used to being played.
3. Show him you’re having a great time
Whether you’re having a blast with your girls, doing excellent at work or simply enjoying some alone time, guys love girls who are confident and in love with their lives. Show him that you live your life to the fullest and you don’t need a man to do it. Show him that you don’t need him; that should be enough to make yourself look like a challenge to him.
4. Make sure he sees you having fun with other guys
Ah yes, the good old game of jealousy. You showed no interest in spending time with him, no interest in hearing his compliments and jokes, and there you are, having a blast with other guys, laughing at their jokes and blushing at their comments. Be careful not to appear too flirty, just enough to light a spark of jealousy in him. He will get the competition he needs and will have the chance to prove once more how much of an amazing guy he is (not).
5. Flirt
10 Steps To Beating A Player At His Own Game
You’re heading to the second half of the game, the crowd is on their feet and you have the ball. Look at him seductively across the room, make him come to you. Talk to him, laugh at his jokes, but show him that you’re not falling for his womanizing tactics. Don’t compliment him, keep things light and fun. Touch his arm by accident, giggle here and there and throw some slightly dirty jokes.
6. Stay immune to his charm
He’s used to having the attention of all the women around him, but show him that you’re not falling for that. Call him Romeo or call the women around him his girlfriends. Show him that you have seen through his act. He will be so eager to change your mind, to prove to you that he’s different, that he will become obsessed with you. The trap is set and all you have left is fun and games.
7. Maintain the mystery
Don’t give out too much information about yourself. Give him just enough to answer the question, but still not enough that he would have the complete story. No mentioning of exes, of your dreams, hopes and fears. If he asks about your day, give him something indefinite and ask him about his day. Don’t be an open book, make sure he wants to stay around you so he can get to know more of you.
8. Stay off his radar
Players are used to women who are obsessing over them. They’re used to being texted and called all the time. But not by you. Don’t be the first to text, and if he texts you, answer him the next day. If he calls you, call him back hours later and say you’ve been busy (bonus points if you were busy with some guy, doing work stuff). Make him wonder where you are and what you’re doing. Drive him crazy with half-answers and indefinite comments. Show him what it’s like to be ignored via text messages.
9. Show him you don’t care
If he shows up at the bar with some chick, be polite and say hi. If he makes moves on your friends, smile and have the best time of your life. Show him that he has nothing on you, that no matter what he does, you just don’t care. No matter whom he picks up, you’re not jealous. Show him that you’re not as interested in him as he wants you to be.
10. Play a player
To play a player properly, you need to know some basic rules, but the most important rule of playing is to NEVER fall in love. This is just a game, remember that. Make him think that you like him, while you’re enjoying your single life to the fullest. Make him feel special while knowing that everything you say is meaningless. And when you feel that his affections are at their peak, cut him loose.
It’s important to stay long enough so that he takes the bait and remembers being played. And to cut it off before he gets bored of you. Being a player is a tough job, so don’t do it unless you’re ready or you really want to get back at him, for whatever the reason. If you feel bored, leave. If he admits he has feelings for you, leave. Don’t linger too long, so that you won’t fall for him. Make sure you protect your heart too. Once you decide that you’re cutting him loose, make it a clean cut. Don’t linger around him, don’t give him second chances, just don’t prolong the game, because it might backfire on you. Cut him out and cut him clean.
You’ve done your job well, you played a player.
