Cellulite Became My Best Friend
Look at her legs!
See how she looks like in her bathing suit!
How could she let herself get like that!
The woman looks terrible!
Yeees, we’ve heard all these sentences this summer on every beach, right? And we heard women commenting on other women. I think I know only one woman who is ready to compliment another woman. But I know thousands who are prepared to find flaws in other women. And so we women are in the war against other women. We say how our main enemies are some odd measures set by society. Society determines ideal weight, ideal height, and we are never completely satisfied with our body, all because of some of these standards and norms. And then we burden ourselves with the story of cellulite. If you know a woman who has never had that problem with her body, congratulate her now! Such are rare.
I’m not going to write about what it is, how it comes and how thousands of factors influence it because someone will inevitably say this next:
lots of water, proper nutrition, training and he will discover the super secret recipe that we hear for the first time.
Sarcasm, of course.
What do I want to say?
We, women, make a problem where it doesn’t exist. When I talked to my husband about cellulite a couple of years ago, he asked me WHAT’S THAT? Only when I explained to him how cellulite looks like he said,
– Yeah, those little holes on your legs. What about it?
Nothing. Aside from having a milder form of a nervous breakdown every summer when we see it in the changing booth!
And so we women made the most prominent horror story of all time: cellulite.
I have it, and I’ve always had it. I’ve tried a million ways to remove it, but that damn thing still comes back at some point. I became so burdened that I avoided going to the beach or the pool. It was my biggest shame. I thought everyone was looking at me. I was insecure, and I became the type of woman I’ve never wanted to be.
Until one day I sat alone with myself and started talking.
Are you happy?
Yes, I am.
Are you healthy?
Yes, I am.
Do you like socializing and hanging on the beach?
I love it.
Do you want to lose it all if someone’s bothered with your cellulite?
Well, I won’t.
Are you going to give up the things you love just because someone tells me I have cellulite?
I’m not a fool!
That’s right, women! We are not fools not to enjoy the only life we have. Look in the mirror and see how beautiful and powerful you are! This “factory fault” on your body should not be an obstacle for enjoying your life. Who cares about your cellulite! Make peace with it, look at him as a friend who keeps track of you and from today ENJOY what you have missed because of it.
