5 Things That Girls Do In Their Early 20s

I’ve always been listening to older people saying how it takes time to learn some things. At that time, it seems stereotypical, and we claim that the habits we have now will stick with us forever. Of course, we keep some of our practices, but definitely, some things mark only one period of our lives.

I’m in my thirties, and my sister recently celebrated her twentieth birthday. Sometimes I’m nervous about the things she does, but our mother always warns me with one sentence:

YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN YOU ALSO DID ALL OF THAT!

Summing up what I’ve done in my early twenties I can see that it is very similar as with my sister. There are probably some unspoken rules that all girls are going through those stages in life. All right, not all. I know, I know, there are you who have never done this, but there are many of us who have done these things.

Almost all the girls in their twenties:

THINK AT LEAST ONCE HOW THEY ARE UGLY, FAT OR THIN

I have never used a mirror like they do in that period. One day I would be the most beautiful one, and the next morning I cried how I became fat and ugly. The third day I would tell the third story.

2.THEY ARE GETTING READY FOR HOURS

Yesterday my friend called me in a hurry, I’ve put some makeup, put on a dress and went out. When I was twenty, it seemed like I was preparing to run the marathon. First I had to choose what to wear, then I would call my friends to see if they agree. I stayed in the bathroom for several hours, and it took ages to put on my make-up.

THEY TALK ON THE PHONE FOR HOURS

Although I have spent the whole day in the company of my friends, I have to call them in the evening. My parents ask what are we talking about, but it is hard to answer that question. It’s simple: we have to tell each other everything. What you have eaten, drank or did. That is a golden rule.

4.THEY HAVE A FRIEND WHO THEY CALL A SISTER

During that time, we believe that we will be best friends forever. Frankly, this is a rare case, but it is happening. Almost all the girls have a friend called a sister. Often they are dressed the same, so they can be called twins too. Wherever one goes, the other one follows. People stop experiencing them as two people but consider them as two halves of one person. To them, of course, that is the most beautiful thing in the world.

ARGUING WITH THEIR PARENTS

This is everyday life in that period. We think our parents are wrong because they don’t allow us some things and we always believe that our friends have better parents than we do. Later, we thank them for all the advice.
